Since 2019, “Luci su Lecco” has transformed the city’s historic center into a large-scale spectacle of Christmas light projections and architectural video mapping. The project, created by PROIETTA, combines professional technology, energy efficiency, and the enhancement of urban spaces, making Lecco a benchmark destination for Christmas events on Lake Como.
2026 – Winter Sporting Event
Among the most recent projects carried out in the city center, PROIETTA delivered a major installation of urban light scenography dedicated to winter sports, on the occasion of a significant international sporting event hosted in the Lecco area.
The video mapping installations transformed the façades of the historic center into a dynamic visual narrative that highlighted snow and ice sports disciplines, seamlessly integrating moving graphic elements with Lecco’s mountainous landscape.
The animations enhanced the identity of the territory, emphasizing the connection between sport, nature, and urban architecture.
The project helped strengthen the city’s image as an ideal setting for internationally significant sporting events.
2025 – Christmas Yetis and Interactive Installations
The 2025 edition introduced a new creative concept of Christmas video mapping on historic façades, designed to engage a broad and diverse audience.
The protagonists of the light projections were cheerful Christmas-themed Yetis, featured within a dynamic visual narrative composed of animated gifts, luminous stars, decorative bows, and vibrant colors that enhanced the architectural geometry of Piazza XX Settembre.
The integration of graphic animation with the urban structure transformed the square into an immersive setting designed for families and visitors.
Further enhancing the experience were the interactive installations: a talking Christmas tree capable of engaging children through festive storytelling, and a large scenic magic book that became both a photo attraction and an experiential space.
The significant public attendance confirmed the effectiveness of the Christmas architectural lighting project, further enhancing the appeal of the city center during the holiday season.
2022 – “The Factory of Wonders”
In 2022, “Luci su Lecco” presented “The Factory of Wonders,” a Christmas video mapping project dedicated to the world of toys, reinterpreted in an immersive way.
Thanks to PROIETTA’s professional outdoor projectors, the façades of the buildings, city arches, and the lakeside pier area were brought to life with lights, imagery, graphic effects, and sound design.
The entire historic center was transformed into an open-air Christmas spectacle, involving several streets and landmarks, including the small harbor area.
The interactive “magic carpet” designed for children and the luminous moon on the lake, surrounded by stars, helped create an immersive experience capable of attracting thousands of visitors.
2020 – The Luminous Story of “The Nutcracker”
In 2020, PROIETTA developed a themed light projection project inspired by the fairy tale “The Nutcracker,” accompanied by Tchaikovsky’s renowned musical score.
The façades of the historic center became an open-air stage, animated by elegant and evocative Christmas scenography.
The video mapping narrated the story through dynamic sequences seamlessly integrated with the urban architecture, creating an immersive experience that combined culture, music, and technology.
The installation enhanced the city’s architectural heritage, transforming it into an engaging visual narrative accessible to audiences of all ages.
Since 2019 – Christmas Architectural Lighting in Lecco
Since 2019, the event has become a well-established example of Christmas light projections for historic city centers.
The façades of Piazza XX Settembre and the renowned Palazzo delle Paure have been enhanced through outdoor video mapping created with high-efficiency THOROK LED projectors, designed to ensure low energy consumption even across large surface areas.
The use of PROIETTA’s climate-controlled protective housings allowed for safe outdoor installation, ensuring operational continuity even in adverse weather conditions and temperature fluctuations.
Over the various editions, the square has been transformed into a true luminous Christmas setting, designed with full respect for private residences and the surrounding urban balance.
